1. Data We Collect
Helpy Translate does not collect, store on our servers, transmit or sell any personal data. It needs no account, no sign-in and no personal details. The app itself has no internet permission: it cannot send anything anywhere.
2. Translation on the Device
Texts you type, paste or open from a file are translated by the AI model inside the app, on your phone. They are kept in the app's memory while you use it and are not saved, except where you choose to save a translation as a file. Files you open or save are chosen by you through Android's file picker; the app reads or writes only those.
3. Microphone, Speech Recognition and Reading Aloud
The app asks for the microphone, the only permission it requests, and uses it only while you dictate, practise a sentence or hold a conversation. What you say is turned into text by your phone's speech recognition service (for example Google's or another service installed on your phone), not by the app. When a language is downloaded for offline use, your phone may recognise it on the device; otherwise the phone's speech service may use the phone's internet connection, under the terms of that service's provider. Reading a translation aloud uses your phone's text-to-speech voices in the same way. Helpy Translate receives only the recognised text and does not record, keep or send your voice.
4. Settings Stored on the Phone
Your settings (theme, text size, reading aloud, the speech service chosen) and the state of a file translation in progress are stored only on your phone, in the app's private storage, and are removed when you uninstall the app.
5. Advertising, Analytics and Tracking
Helpy Translate contains no advertisements, no analytics, no advertising identifier, no crash reporting service and no tracking or profiling of any kind.
6. Children
The app is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
7. Accuracy
Translations are made by an AI and can be wrong. Do not rely on them alone for medical, legal, safety or other important matters.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. Any update will be published at this address with a new effective date.
